Indian Hindu devotees take holy bath at Sangam, the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna and Saraswati rivers in Allahabad, early morning on 14 January 2007, during the Ardh Kumbh Mela festival (Half Pitcher festival), on the one of the festival's main bathing days,Makar Sankranti. Hundreds of thousands of devotees and Hindu holy men are taking part in the largest religious congregation of the world on the banks of Sangam, the confluence of the rivers Ganges, Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati, during the Ardh Kumb Mela (fair) which lasts 45 days and commemorates a mythical battle between gods and demons over a pitcher of the nectar of immortality.
