AT SEA-HORNET-KITTY HAWK
This photo released by the US Navy 20 February, 2004, shows an F/A-18F Super Hornet assigned to the Diamondbacks of Strike Fighter Squadron One Zero Two catching the number three arresting wire, becoming the first Super Hornet to land aboard the USS Kitty Hawk, in the Pacific Ocean. The Super Hornet is replacing the F-14 Tomcat on carrier decks throughout the Navy. Currently under way in the 7th Fleet Area of Responsibility (AOR), the aircraft carrier Kitty Hawk is the World-s only permanently forward-deployed aircraft carrier, operating from Yokosuka, Japan.
