TO GO WITH AFP STORY: SLOVAKIA-UKRAIN-BORDER:
A truck under goes an x-ray search at the Slovak-Ukrainian border crossing in Vysne Nemecke 19 January 2006, during Slovakian Interior Minister Robert Kalinak visit to inspect new security measures for the Shingen border planed for 2008. The scanner, which is the only one of that type in Europe, was offered by the Chinese government to the Slovakian president Rudolf Schuster in 2004. It has the capacity to check 200 vehicles in 24 hours. A total of 35.000 vehicles coming from Ukraine were controled in 2005.
