US-STOCKS-OPEN
Traders work on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange after the opening bell, 28 February 2007, one day after a large worldwide sell-off of stocks. The major US share indexes rebounded at the opening Wednesday, following the worst session in years and sharp declines in global markets a day earlier. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 56.00 points (0.46 percent) at 12,272.24 shortly after the opening bell, after shedding over 400 points (3.29 percent) a day earlier. The tech-dominated Nasdaq composite gained 6.59 points (0.27 percent) to 2,414.45 while the broad-market Standard and Poor's 500 index rose 5.41 points (0.39 percent) to 1,404.45.
