China is likely to see a fifth consecutive year of double-digit growth in 2007, even after the government called for a slowdown in the economy, as the world's fourth-largest economy will probably expand by 10 percent this year, compared with 10.7 percent in 2006, while retail sales, a main gauge of consumer spending and sentiment, is expected to remain brisk in 2007, with the growth rate higher than the 13.7 percent expansion in 2006.
