URUGUAY-HARRIS HAWK
A Harris Hawk (parabuteo unicintus) perches on the arm of his trainer, 13th April, 2007 at a bottling plant in Montevideo. Harris Hawks are being hired here and in a bus station to keep them free from pigeons, whose fecal matter corrode metals and transmit several diseases.. They also "work" at the Carrasco International Airport to scare lapwings (teros) and hulls so as to reduce bird danger for the planes.
