Kofar Mata communal dyeing pits in Kano, established in 1498 in the commercial capital of northern Nigeria, has for centuries remained the source of wealth for the indigenes of the Hausa region of West Africa, where clothes are dyed with catchy artistic traditional designs for the royals and during festivities at the ancient city.
