NEPAL-HISTORY-RELIGION-MURAL
Broughton Coburn, environmental and cultural conservation expert and US member of the survey team speaks during an interview in Kathmandu, 04 May 2007. A team of explorers, academics and scholars have discovered an ancient cave in northern Nepal that contains a spectacular Buddhist mural unseen for centuries, a team member said. The team was led to the newly discovered cave by a local sheep herder who decades before had sheltered in the cave's opening during a rainstorm in the visually stunning but harsh Mustang region along Nepal's border with Chinese-controlled Tibet.
