CHILE-FRANCE-GERMANY-ARGENTINA-GEOGRAPHY-MOUNTAIN TOPS
(L-R) Argentinian Pablo Schultz, Chilean Luis Alberto Martinez, German Hans Martin Scmitt, French Marc Turell, French Philippe Reuter, Chilean Jorge Velasco, Chilean Omar Lopez and Chilean Katharina Kastowsky, pose for the press after offering a press conference in Santiago on May 17th, 2007. The group informed about the results obtained after their ascent to the snowcapped volcano of Pissis in Argentina and to the Ojos del Salado volcano in Chile, and confirmed the Aconcagua in Argentina is definitively the highest mountain in the American continent with 6.962 metres. Nevertheless, the Ojos del Salado displaced the Pissis as the highest volcano in the world, and was confirmed as the second highest mountain in the continent with 6.891 metres over the sea level.
