SWITZERLAND-AVIATION-ADVENTURE-ENERGY-SOLAR-SOLAR IMPULSE

Swiss scientist-adventurer and pilot Bertrand Piccard (R), the first man ever to achieve a non-stop balloon flight around the world, poses with Solar Impulse Chief Executive Officer Andre Borschberg during a press presentation of the planned round-world, solar-powered plane 22 May 2007 in Geneva. The plane will try to retrace Charles Linberg's first ever transatlantic crossing before its planned roud-the-world flight in 2011. The "Solar Impulse" project, led by Piccard, this week carried out real-time computer simulations of a circumnavigation, a year before the prototype is due to take to the air.
