CUBA-VILMA ESPIN-HOMAGE
Cuban Interior Ministry Colonel Alejandro Castro Espin comforts his sister Mariela Castro Espin during a homage to their late mother Vilma Espin held 19 June, 2007 at the Karl Marx Theater in Havana. Espin, wife of Cuban acting President Raul Castro, brother of Fidel Castro, died June 18th 2007 at 77 after a long illness. Cuba held a day of mourning Tuesday for the guerrilla who became one of the most powerful women in the revolution that propelled her brother-in-law Fidel Castro to power.
