Filipina mothers breastfeed their newborn babies at the Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital in Manila, 20 June 2007, one of the leading baby-friendly government hospital. All companies offering infant formula in the Philippines are violating a law that bars them from competing with breastfeeding, World Health Organisation (WHO) officials charged as the government and the milk companies are battling it out in the Supreme Court over the legality of the regulation that restricts the marketing of infant formula.
