BRITAIN-ATTACKS-ARRESTS
Britain's Home Secretary Jacqui Smith leaves 10 Downing Street in London, 30 June 2007, following the second COBRA meeting of the day where it was announced that Britain's terror threat level has been raised to "Critical". The "critical" alert status imposed Saturday across Britain is the maximum level of warning and designed by authorities to show that the country faces the threat of an imminent attack. The last time the level was raised to critical was last August, after British police said that they had foiled a plot to blow up flights between Britain and the United States. AFP PHOTO/LEON NEAL
