Belgian paedophile Marc Dutroux sits at the Arlon court 11 March 2004. Casting an unflinching gaze at her torturer, a young woman who escaped the terrifying clutches of Marc Dutroux put in a surprise appearance 10 March at the Belgian paedophile-s rape-murder trial. Laetitia Delhez, who was 14 when she was rescued in August 1996 from a dungeon built by the jobless electrician, sat between her two lawyers and looked with her own eyes at Dutroux for the first time since that dark summer. Sharing an occasional smile with her legal team, Delhez, now 22, appeared unfazed as she gazed to where Dutroux sat a few metres (yards) away, busily taking notes at his seat behind bullet-proof glass.
