BRITAIN-ATTACKS-ARRESTS
British police officers guard a house in Newcastle-under-Lyme, central England, 02 July 2007, following the arrests of two people in a car on the M6 motorway in Cheshire on Sunday morning. British police were questioning suspects involved in three failed terror attacks Monday and hunting for others involved in the Al-Qaeda-linked attempted car bombings that have put the country on maximum alert. Officers were searching properties in Glasgow, Liverpool, and Newcastle-under-Lyme, and also carried out a controlled explosion on a suspect car at a hospital where one of the Glasgow suspects was being treated for burns.
