(FILES) Swiss Bruno Kernen competes during the men's downhill at the Alpine Ski World Cup finals in Lenzerheide, 14 March 2007. Swiss skier Bruno Kernen, a former downhill world champion and Olympic bronze medallist, announced 06 July 2007 that he is retiring from the sport. The 35-year-old said that he has decided to call it a day after a laborious recovery from damaged knee ligaments.
