Wounded radio journalist Ferdinand Yngson talks to police director Gerry Barrias (L), head of the police task force investigating extrajudicial killings of activists and journalists, and senior superintendent Ricardo de la Paz, (C) chief of the police regional intelligence, at a private hospital in central Bacolod city, 25 July 2007. Yngson, 46, a station manager of Radio GMA, was attacked in the nearby city of Sagay as he drove to work on a motorcycle. The suspect, an official of the Land Transportation Office here, was arrested by police as he tried to flee with the shotgun used in the shooting. International media watchdog organisations such as Reporters Without Borders and the International Press Institute have labelled the Philippines as the most dangerous place for news professionals next to Iraq. At least three journalists have been killed this year and 12 murdered in 2006, the Philippines-based National Union of Journalists said. AFP PHOTO/GILBERT BAYORAN
