FRANCE-POLITICS-PROBE-PM-COMBO
(FILES) - A combo made 27 July 2007 in Paris, shows pictures of (clockwise from top left) former French Prime Ministers Dominique de Villepin, Edith Cresson, Laurent Fabius and Alain Juppe. The four former French Prime ministers were all convicted, de Villepin in 2007 in the so-called Clearstream affair, Edith Cresson in 2006 in a favoritism affair when she was an EU official in the 1990s, Fabius in 1994 in the affair of the involontary manslaughter in the deaths of hundreds of people contaminated in the 1980s with Aids-tainted blood during transfusions and Juppe in 2004 in a party finance scandal. De Villepin who faced fresh accusations in the so-called Clearstream probe earlier this month, was placed by the judges, 27 July 2007, under investigation for "complicity to make false accusations", as a result of new evidence that suggests he may have actively encouraged the leaking of false information against French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
