ITALY-GAY-PROTEST
People attend 02 August 2007 the inauguration of the first gay street in Rome. Several hundred homosexual rights advocates today inaugurated a "Gay Street" in Rome and then headed to the nearby Colosseum for a rally in support of a gay couple arrested for what police deemed an indecent public kiss. Italy's leading gay rights group Arcigay "officially" dubbed Via San Giovani in Laterno Rome's new "Gay Street," saying it wanted to give the Eternal City a "point of reference for the gay and lesbian community."
