INDIA-WEATHER-FLOODS

An Indian villager covers her face as she prepares food in a temporary tented shelter on the national highway after being washed out of her home at the village of Sobhan, in Darbhanga District some 160 Kms. north of Patna, 07 August 2007. Among the millions of people forced from their homes by floods across South Asia many were desperate for food and drinking water, with India's Bihar state the worst hit. Flooding has affected more than 6,000 villages in half of Bihar's 38 districts with at least two million people living outdoors. AFP PHOTO/ Deshakalyan CHOWDHURY
