IRAN-BELGIUM-SARAH-YASMIN-POURASHEMI
Sarah Pourhashemi (six) one of the two Iranian-Belgian sisters holed-up at the Belgian embassy in Tehran reads 16 March 2004 a Belgian newspaper with an article about her and her sister Yasmin (15). The two girls sought refuge in the embassy in December after escaping from their Iranian father who had snatched them from their mother. Iranian law does not recognize dual nationality and says that as Iranians they should be in the custody of their father.
