INDIA-SPACE-SATELLITE-LAUNCH
The 49-metre (1,481-feet) rocket carrying the Insat-4CR satellite blasts off from the Sriharikota space station in southern India, 02 September 2007. India launched a rocket carrying the replacement for a communications satellite destroyed last year in a failed space mission, officials said. Insat-4CR, weighing 2,130 kilogrammes (4,700 pounds), is equipped with 12 wideband channels that allow digital transmission on each at the same time by several video and audio networks. AFP PHOTO
