BRITAIN-ENTERTAINMENT-MUSIC-MERCURY-AWARDS
Artist Sir Peter Blake arrives at the Grosvenor Hotel on Park Lane for the Mercury Music Awards ceremony, London, 04 September 2007. Famous for it's eclectic choice of nominees, this year's awards is no exception with classically trained quintet "Basquiat Strings" going against artists such as new-rave band "Klaxons". Previous favourite Amy Winehouse has slipped in the odds following her recent high-profile struggle with personal issues and alleged drug abuse. Last year's winners, Arctic Monkeys, are nominated again for their second album, "Favourite Worst Nightmare" and it would be a first in the Mercury's history if a band was to win the award twice.
