BRITAIN-ENTERTAINMENT-MUSIC-MERCURY-AWARDS
Fionn Regan poses with his nomination award at the Grosvenor Hotel on Park Lane for the Mercury Music Awards ceremony, London, 4 September 2007. Famous for it's eclectic choice of nominees, this year's awards is no exception with classically trained quintet "Basquiat Strings" going against artists such as new-rave band "Klaxons". Previous favourite Amy Winehouse has slipped in the odds following her recent high-profile struggle with personal issues and alleged drug abuse. Last year's winners, Arctic Monkeys, are nominated again for their second album, "Favourite Worst Nightmare" and it would be a first in the Mercury's history if a band was to win the award twice.
