Guatemalan presidential candidate of the Encuentro por Guatemala Party Rigoberta Menchu speaks during a meeting with a delegation of European parliamentaries at her house in Mixco, Guatemala 08 September 2007, on the eve of the general elections. Social-Democrat Alvaro Colom led a voter intention poll 07 September 2007, almost eight percentage points ahead of retired army General Otto Perez Molina. Other surveys earlier showed the two candidates in a virtual tie.
