Spanish driver Fernando Alonso of McLaren Mercedes leads BMW Sauber's Nick Heidfeld of Germany during the Formula One Japan Grand Prix at the Fuji Speedway in Shizuoka prefecture 30 September 2007. Alonso's retired the race after crash and Heidfeld finished the fourteenth, as Lewis Hamilton overcame wet conditions to win the Japanese Grand Prix in a McLaren-Mercedes, the 15th leg of the 17-race world championship.
