A mask featuring French president Nicolas Sarkozy is burning during a demonstration, 18 October 2007 in Nice, southern France, as part of the 24-hour strike against the government's reform plans of historic pensions privileges. Street demonstrations are planned in some 60 towns and cities, as trade unions try to force French President Nicolas Sarkozy to drop plans to reform France's so-called "special" pension systems enjoyed by 1.6 million rail, energy and other workers.
