NETHERLANDS-WOLKERS-FUNERAL
Karina Wolkers, wife of Dutch writer and artist Jan Wolkers, speaks next to the coffin of her husband during his funeral in Amsterdam 24 October 2007. Wolkers, one of the major Dutch writers of the post-war period, died 19 October 2007 at the age of 81. Wolkers is best known for his graphic description of sex in his 1960s novels which caused scandal at the time. His best known novel is "Turkish Delight," which was translated into more than 10 languages including French, German, Spanish and Japanese.
