SUDAN-LIBYA-DARFUR-PEACE-REBEL
Sudanese rebels headed for Sirte, Libya, to attend peace talks wait at Juba International Airport, late 24 October 2007. Peace talks, hosted by the United Nations and the African Union, to end four years of violence in the Sudanese region of Darfur are to open in Libya 27 October, but the chances of success have been dimmed by the 11th-hour pullout of most of the rebels. Only one rebel group -- the Sudan Liberation Movement (SLM) faction of Khamis Abdallah Bakr -- has said it will attend the talks. AFP PHOTO/HO/UN/FRED NOY
