CHAD-FRANCE-CRIME-CHILDREN
An angry mob of several dozen people gather outside the courtroom in Abeche, 30 October 2007, where 16 Europeans charged with kidnapping or complicity after a charity attempted to fly more than 100 children to France, are arrested. Nine French nationals -- members of the charity Zoe's Ark or journalists -- were formally charged by judge in Chad with "kidnapping of minors with the aim of compromising their civil status" and "swindling," an official in this eastern town said. The seven Spanish crew of the aircraft and two Chadian nationals were charged with complicity to kidnapping. AFP PHOTO SONIA ROLLEY
