NETHERLANDS-STORM-BARRIER
The Maeslantkering, a storm surge barrier between the towns of Hoek van Holland and Maassluis on the river Nieuwe Waterweg, is closed 09 November 2007 for the first time since it was built (1991), due to high water levels in the North Sea and an expected storm.
