The leader of the lower house of parliament, Herman Van Rompuy, leaves Belvedere Castle in Brussels after a meeting with King Albert II on forming a coalition government 11 November 2007. Five months after elections in Belgium, the country's two main linguistic communities appear as entrenched as ever in their positions with no clear way to form a government in sight.
