The leader of the Alliance for a New Kosovo (AKR), Behgjet Pacolli, gestures during an inteview with AFP 12 November 2007. The tycoon-turned-politician wants to run Kosovo like a big corporation and hopes to spring a major surprise in the 17 November 2007 elections. Swiss-based Pacolli, whose wealth is estimated at some 440 million euros (640 million US dollars) in Kosovo alone, recently decided to form a political party, theAKR. The party is already the third strongest with 13 percent backing behind the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) on 31 and 29 percent respectively, according to latest opinion polls.
