FINLAND-HEALTH-LABOUR-STRIKE
Nurses Niina Helman (L) and Tanja Turunen laugh as they change the intravenous bag in the Maria hospital 19 November 2007 in Helsinki. A planned nurses' strike that would have paralysed Finland's hospitals was called off after a last-ditch deal was accepted today, the two sides said. The health workers' union Tehy said in a statement that it had "approved an agreement reviewing the salaries of its members for the period November 19, 2007 to December 31, 2011."
