Special forces commandos conduct fast roping from a Blackhawk helicopter aboard HMAS Kanimbla in the Arafura Sea off Darwin during Australia-s largest and most ambitious counter-terrorism exercise ever, 26 March 2004. Code-named "Mercury 04," the five-day exercise involved over 3,000 members of the defence, police, and emergency services in mock attacks by terrorists on an offshore oil rig, bomb blasts, a siege, and the kidnapping of a foreign prime minister.
