JAPAN-US-CHINA-HONG KONG-MILITARY-PORT
Commander Task Force 70 Rear Admiral Rick Wren (C) and US aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk Commanding Officer Captain Todd Zecchin (R) hold a joint press conference at the pier upon their return to the Yokosuka US naval base, 27 November 2007. The USS Kitty Hawk returned to Japan after initially being denied permission to dock in Hong Kong for a Thanksgiving visit by Chinese authorities on 22 November. The Chinese foreign ministry announced on 22 November that the Kitty Hawk had finally been allowed entry, but by the time access was granted, the USS Kitty Hawk had turned around and was headed back to Japan.
