Interior Ministry troops patrol a train station in Moscow, 01 December 2007. Russia's domestic security service has been put in charge of coordinating police and military forces tasked with providing security for Sunday's legislative election, the Kommersant daily reported. "The responsibility for ensuring the security of the election has been handed to the FSB, all the police headquarters have for the first time been subordinated to the Checkists," the paper quoted a law enforcement official as saying, using the name of the predecessor agency of the KGB and FSB.
