BOSNIA-AIDS
A Bosnian volunteer activist of non-governmental organisation "XY" spray-paints a billboard promoting HIV awareness to citizens of Sarajevo, 01 December, 2007. Throughout the world, only in year 2007, 2.5 million people got infected by HIV and 2.1 million people died from diseases caused by the virus, out of which 330,000 were children. Recorded number of persons infected by HIV in Bosnia is relatively low but it is suspected that numbers might be higher due to very low level of population awareness. This year's campaign is mostly dedicated to improving people's willingness towards testing for HIV as well as improving their attitude towards those infected by the virus. AFP PHOTO ELVIS BARUKCIC
