BULGARIA-LIBYA-AIDS-PEOPLE-DOCTOR
Ashraf Hajuj and his wife Olia pose after their wedding ceremony in Sofia, 01 December 2007. The Palestinian-born doctor who spent eight years in a Libyan jail with five Bulgarian nurses in an AIDS scandal, got married 01 December, finally bringing his long ordeal to a happy end. Hajuj and the five Bulgarian nurses were released in July after spending eight and a half years in a Libyan prison -- over half of it on death row -- on charges of infecting over 400 Libyan children with AIDS-tainted blood at the Benghazi hospital where they worked.
