SWITZERLAND-POLITICS-GOVERNMENT
Swiss Federal Councillor Moritz Leuenberger (From L) New Swiss president Pascal Couchepin and Federal Councillor Samuel Schmid swear after their election 12 December 2007 at the Swiss parliament in Bern. Swiss lawmakers on Wednesday ousted leading far-right politician Christoph Blocher from the cabinet, even though his party won the most votes in October's general elections. Blocher, the key driver behind the far-right Swiss People's Party, won the support of just 115 of the 246 lawmakers gathered in Bern, which was not enough to retain his seat in the governing Federal Council.
