CUBA-VENEZUELA-CHAVEZ

Moncada were the main barracks of Fulgencio Batista´s regime and were attacked by Cuban leader Fidel Castro in 1953. Nowadays there is a primary school in the old barracks. Chavez and Cuban acting president Raul Castro are visiting historical places linked with the Cuban revolution, after participating in the summit of Petrocaribe in the southern coastal city of Cienfuegos. Chavez said that he would make preparations in case Colombian rebels release three hostages to his government as they have promised.
