COLOMBIA-VENEZUELA-FARC-HOSTAGES
A Colombian policeman guards a Russian-made MI-172 Venezuelan helicopter before it takes off from the airport in Villavicencio, Meta department, Colombia early morning 29 December, 2007. Venezuelan helicopters landed in Colombia Friday for a mission to pick up three hostages being freed by Marxist rebels, amid uncertainty over the handover's location and day. But a spokeswoman of the International Committee of the Red Cross ruled out completing the mission on Friday, saying it would be too dark to travel on into the jungle, while Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez admitted he did not know exactly where the rendezvous would be.
