SWITZERLAND-CYPRUS-TALKS

The new UN reunification plan for Cyprus goes a long way towards meeting Turkish Cypriots demands for the presence of Turkish troops and permanent exceptions from EU law on free movement and investment. The new plan allows Greece and Turkey to keep troops on he island even after Ankara-s eventual EU membership, when they would have to be withdrawn under the previous blueprint.
