(FILES) A picture released by the US Navy shows Lt. Cmdr. Eric Doyle gesturing during flight operations aboard the Nimitz-class nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman, at sea in the Gulf waters. Iran played down 07 January 2008 an incident between Iranian forces and US naval ships in the Strait of Hormuz, describing the event as an "ordinary occurrence," the state news agency IRNA reported. Pentagon officials said Iranian speedboats swarmed three US navy ships in the strategic Strait of Hormuz over the weekend, radioing a threat to blow them up.
