KENYA-UNREST-ELECTIONS-DISPLACED
Two kids are pictured at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart of Jesus while people queue to receive food 08 January 2008 in Eldoret, in western Kenya. Kenya's political unrest has not yet disrupted aid efforts in the wider region, but calm and stability are needed to safeguard its role as a humanitarian hub, United Nations aid agencies said today. Rioting and tribal killings spurred by the re-election of President Mwai Kibaki in the December 27 polls left at least 600 people dead, and the unrest is estimated to have cost Kenya's economy at least 15 million dollars.
