(FILES) The logo of the French international news TV channel France 24 is seen 13 September 2006 in the editing room at the headquarters in Issy-les-Moulineaux, Paris suburbs. French President Nicolas Sarkozy announced 08 January 2008 that France 24, the news channel launched 13 months ago would be merged into a new French-language channel called France Monde (France World). France World would be created from France 24, Radio France Internationale and TV5 Monde, a consortium created in 1984 with news programmes supplied by French, Belgian, Swiss and Canadian broadcasters, he said.
