(FILES) Sir Edmund Hillary gives a press-conference after he was decorated by Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski with a Commander's Cross of the Order of Merit at the Presidential Palace in Warsaw 17 June 2004. Hillary, the first man to climb the world's highest mountain Mount Everest, has died at the age of 88, New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark said 11 January 2008.
