LEBANON-BLAST
A video grab from the Lebanese Broadcasting Coporation (LBC) shows a Lebanese soldier standing in front of a vehicule which reportedly was part of a US embassy convoy targetted in a blast that killed at least one and injured ten, 15 January 2008 on a seafront road outside Qarantina. Today's blast came amidst a deep political crisis in Lebanon with rival parties deadlocked over efforts to find a replacement for former pro-Syrian head of state Emile Lahoud who stood down in November.
