HONDURAS-CONGRESS-PROTEST
A Honduran "garifuna" blows a conch while an indigenous man remains 'crucified' during a demonstration in front of the Parliament in Tegucigalpa 16 January, 2008. Honduras' Council of Popular and Indigenous Organizations (COPIN) and the Fraternal Black Organization protested against a reform in an electoral law which gives more than 1,000 millions lempiras (about USD 50 million) for election campaigns. The reform was already approved in the Congress, but still needs to be published in the official paper to come into effect.
