BRITAIN-PROSTITUTION-MURDER

The five women working as prostitutes in the Ipswich red light district were murdered between 2 and 12 December 2006. The women were either suffocated or strangled. The trial of a man accused of killing five prostitutes in an English town got under way 18 January with the lead prosecutor claiming he left two of the bodies in a "cruciform" shape. Steve Wright, a 49-year-old forklift driver, may not have been acting alone when he allegedly murdered the women, who were all drug addicts aged between 19 and 29, lawyer Peter Wright said.
